Jaora is an ancient and prominent city situated on the banks of the Rigni River. Historically established as a 13-Gun Salute Princely State in 1808 by Nawab Ghyas-ud-din Muhammad Abdul Ghafur Khan, Jaora holds a glorious chapter in Indian history.

After the independence of India, the state merged into the Union of India. Today, Nagar Palika, Jaora preserves this rich architectural and cultural legacy while providing modern civic infrastructure to its citizens.
